The American Pharmaceutical Group (APG) represents the US research-based bio-pharmaceutical companies with a presence in the UK. The Group works to promote a greater understanding of the value of our member companies to people’s health and the UK economy and we seek a receptive environment for inward investment and appropriate access, uptake and use of innovative medicines by the NHS.
The APG member companies are AbbVie, Amgen, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Celgene, Gilead, Janssen, Lilly, MSD and Pfizer.
The APG’s role
Established in 1985, the APG works closely with the industry’s trade body, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, but with the US being the most competitive market for medicines in the world and accounting for over half of the developed world’s R&D, the APG offers a unique perspective on healthcare and economic growth.
